Taking up a hobby

How to make a new hobby a routine?

Connect them to your established routines.

A world resonating with me

The landscapes are mostly from Scotland, but also Ukraine, Finland, Germany and Iceland.

Old things and new things

Time and space are limited in human life.

I must get rid of old things in order to clear some space for new ones.

Only when there's some free space and time, the new things will come into my life.

Other people's influence

Can other people ruin your life?

Rarely.

Almost everything that happens to you is with your permission. If other people influence your life, then it's your decision to allow them to.

There are exceptions, of course, but they're more rare than you think.

Your life is your responsibility. If you allow other people to learn by making bad decisions in your life, it's your choice. But in the end, your life is your own responsibility.

The book of the Universe

We are all children in front of the book of the Universe.

Some of us prefer playing with their toys, ignoring the book.

Some of us can't read, but love looking through the pictures.

Some of us can read the words.

Some of us can understand what the book is about.

But the book is always there, for everyone to see. It isn't hidden or occult in any way. It constantly offers itself to everyone without limitation.

Common reality

For two people to be together, they must share a common piece of reality.

The closer the relationship, the broader and vaster is the common reality.

Once the realities of two people stop intersecting, the people separate.

The beautiful winter

The easiest or the most difficult

The most difficult things to do are simple things you need to do on a daily basis.

But once I tie them up to the routines I already do, they become the easiest things to do.

Things to do on New Year season

- Declutter
- Do karaoke
- Have a disco
- Predict the future
- Meditate
- Cook for fun
- Rewatch old movies
- Play games
- Relax and be myself :)

Tolerance and intolerance

Tolerance is great, but my world needs selection.

What if I get too strict and cut everyone out?

What if I get too tolerant and let everyone in?

Why learn a lot?

1. The more you know, the easier it is for you to learn.

2. The more you know, the more options are open to you in life.

3. The more you know, the more tolerant and understanding you become - or at least you're supposed to. :))

Building my world pt 3 - Finding the courage

I must find the courage to be myself in the world of stereotypes.

Stereotypes are dangerous, because they oversimplify and overequalize.

Getting off the beaten track is challenging, but also rewarding, and it brings the Universe the most value.

Pain of death

Having pets means experiencing their life and death.

- Value the limited time
- Learn to get over pain
- Give your best shot first, always!
- Value every moment, good and bad

When your pet is gone, there's no need to watch your step, close the doors carefully, clean the cage or toilet, or do any of the dozens of little annoying things you used to do.

But then you think, 'I'd rather do those things again. Please, don't go...'.

Winter train

For those who are fascinated by trains. :)

Vintage paradox

A thing 10 years old is just an old thing.

A thing 50 years old is vintage.

A thing 100 years old is historical value.

Perfect and imperfect

The difference between perfect and imperfect is one millimetre off the target, one note off the pitch, one wrong detail.

They are too closely intervined to allow carelessness.

Suffering

Suffering shapes character.

Experiencing and getting over pain, facing discomfort make me stronger and teach me important lessons about real life.

It leaves me on my own to figure out what to do, and it cuts off everything of minor importance.

They say, no pain - no gain.

This also works in learning languages.

22. Pa-ling’s Secret Transmission

A monk asked Pa-ling,

"What do the words 'secret transmission in the east and in the west' mean?"

"Are you quoting those words from the poem of the third patriarch?", Pa-ling inquired.

"No", answered the monk, "those are the words of the master Shih-t'ou".

"It is my mistake", Pa-ling apologized. "I am such a dotard".

(from The Iron Flute)

Such is life

Seven times down,
Eight times up -
Such is life.
